Staff Nurse Genevieve Nimmo “Vera” HOCQUARD, c.1891 – 1970

Connection to the Hunter Valley – The Hocquard family lived in Stockton.  Staff Nurse Genevieve ‘Vera’  Hocquard is named on the Stockton Citizens’ Memorial.  Her sister Annie Elsie Hocquard also joined the AANS.

Training and experience – Vera graduated Maitland Hospital in 1916.  She worked there after graduation and before enlisting.

Service – Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS)

Service location – Salonika and UK

Medals – British War Medal and Victory Medal
