Sister Jessie Cobb, 1890 – ?

Connection to the Hunter Valley – Staff Nurse Jessie Cobb was born in East Maitland.  Her place of residence at the time of enlisting was Scone.  Her father was George Francis Cobb of Ellerstone, Scone, probably the George F Cobb who was Supervisor at Ellerstone and whose father George James Cobb had been manager of Beltrees and related by marriage to the White family.

Training and experience –  trained and/or worked at Sydney Hospital.  Jessie passed the examination for membership of the Australian Trained Nurses’ Assocation in 1915.

Service – Australian  Army Nursing Service (AANS)

Service location – Australia, Egypt, Salonika and UK

Medals – British War Medal and Victory Medal

Honour roll – Sydney Hospital
